Alex Anderson and Michael Stamm

Alex Anderson (he/him) is a Los Angeles-based sculptor whose work explores themes of identity politics, self-perception, and sexuality. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Chinese from Swarthmore College and his Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from the University of California, Los Angeles. Anderson previously studied at the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in Jingdezhen, China and was awarded a Fulbright Grant in affiliation with the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. His work has been exhibited internationally, and across the US and Southern California, including at Human Resources, Los Angeles, The Long Beach Museum of Art, and American Museum of Ceramic Art. Anderson is represented by Gavlak Gallery in Los Angeles and Palm Beach.
Michael Stamm (he/him) was raised in Evanston, Illinois. He received his BA from Wesleyan University and an MA in English Literature from Columbia University before earning an MFA from New York University in 2016. The artist's work has been the subject of solo exhibitions in New York at DC Moore Gallery and Thierry Goldberg and in Los Angeles at Shulamit Nazarian. He attended the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture in 2016 and has been awarded fellowships at Yaddo and Macdowell. His work has been featured in Artforum, the New Yorker, the Village Voice, Art in America and W Magazine. Stamm received the New York Foundation for the Arts annual NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship in 2018.
