Sarah Zapata
If I Could

If I Could displays an environment to engage with other individuals through the intersection of material and mutual experience. In conjunction with the exhibition, Zapata has curated a reading and performance event taking place on Sunday, March 19th, including Andrea Arrubla, Kayla Guthrie, Monica Mirabile, and LA Warman.
Zapata was born in 1988 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She received her BFA from University of North Texas in 2011. Zapata has held one-person exhibitions with the Museum of Arts and Design, New York and El Museo del Barrio, New York in 2016. She has also shown her work in group exhibitions nationally including the New Museum, LAXArt, Wave Hill, Sunset Drive Gallery, Auto-Body, and 321 Gallery. She has participated in residencies at MASS MoCA, AZ West in Joshua Tree, Museum of Arts and Design, Wave Hill, and Los Talleres in San Miguel de Allende, MX. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
